FIRED EA STAFF SET UP THEIR OWN STUDIO AND ANNOUNCE NEW GAME.
They still seem a little bitter about the whole thing though.

So back in November 2009 the majority of Pandemic Studio staff had the pleasure of looking forward to a very lean Christmas. EA was downsizing and decided to close down the Studio behind such games as; Mercenaries, Full Spectrum Warrior, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Destroy All Humans. This was a very bitter pill to swallow as EA bought up the successful studio just two years prior.
 
Well, and I quote, “Out of the smoldering ashes of Pandemic Studios, Downsized Games was formed.” This new Development team consists of just three people Manny Vega, Zach Haefner and Ariel Tal and their first game is an iphone exclusive, titled ‘Bullet Train’.
 
Now I don’t normally care about covering iphone games, there doesn’t seem to be much point but everybody loves an underdog, especially when the underdog has been whipped by his owner and he’s decided to urinate on the owner’s shoes...okay I’ll drop this metaphor. They’ve decided to incorporate EA firing them into the story as a take that to EA. Just read the blurb for the game;
 
“It’s the year 2124 and giant mega corporations rule the universe. Even though space travel has been achieved, the corporations still use superfast Bullet trains to deliver goods planet side (it must be cheaper, like outsourcing). This makes the Bullet-railroad barons, lead by the dastardly JR, the richest and most powerful people in the galaxy. You used to run a small shipping company on your home planet of Glendon-19 but a hostile takeover by Elaborate Acquisitions, your local B-rail corporation, has left you out on the streets. With the help of your best driver, Atal, you scrape together your last credits and outfit your transport ship/bedroom with enough weaponry to take down the corporations B-rails. It’s time to hand out the pink-slips, in blood. BulletTrain!!!!!!!!!!!”
