Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a hit game (believe we recently did a review, yeah we’re just that up-to-date) and if there is one thing we can agree on; it looks amazing. The locations, the characters and by proxy the artwork; all look like should be collected into a book and then sold to the public for a substantial amount of money.

 

You know what, that’s what’s happened. Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. and Naughty Dog, Inc. have teamed up with Ballistic Publishing to release The Art of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, a 272 page book with all the artwork that was created for the game. This includes concept art, character studies, environment art, character modelling, game art, cinematics, motion-capture, animation, effects, and insight from the guys at Naughty Dog on developing the game and gaming art in general.

 

There are three versions of the book going on sale. The paperback version (one the on the left) retailing at $65, a leather-bound presentation version (centre) for $129 and a collector’s Limited Folio Edition with hand-crafted, leather-bound presentation case, and hand-signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity from Naughty Dog’s key creators (the one on the right) for a whopping $300.
