Sega’s announcement of not only a return to Sonic’s 2D glory days came as a surprise (although not that surprising after New Super Mario Bros Wii) but it was more of a shock to learn it was going to be available for download and released in episodic segments.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4, a direct sequel to Sonic & Knuckles, will be released on the PS3, Wii and xbox 360. Currently the stages we can see are Splash Hill Zone, Lost Labyrinth Zone, Casino Street Zone, Mad Gear Zone and a Special Stage although this is subject to change. So far it seems to be very similar to the Genesis/Megadrive games, hopefully Sega will have added to the formula yet kept that nostalgic magic. Also Sonic Team isn't behind this game, no instead its Dimps, they guys behind the popular Rush and Advance series on the DS and GBA. That’s all the new info we have right now, enjoy the screens and the dodgy video.

Splash Hill Zone looks pretty similar to Green Hill Zone. I still dont like this new Sonic's running animations.

I'm worried it'll turn into Sonic 2 just with updated graphics, not a bad thing persay but you can already play that game on any electronic device ever created as it is.
