WIRELESS CONTROLLERS ARE NOT AS INNOCUOUS AS WE THOUGHT

Every day you are bombarded with a full spectrum of radiation. From the microwave range through visible light and down through radio. But did you know that you video game controller outputs five times a higher energy level than your cell phone does? That is five times the radiation! Even the most high power (unlicensed) 802.11 wireless networking products are limited to one watt EIRP (including the antenna). Yet and still, your controller is transmitting at its highest power.

Hours of play is constant radiation at its highest power. The amount of radiation you’re exposed to is like getting one x-ray a day in your hands and wherever else you hold your controller (hope it’s not near the kid-maker). Testicular cancer is a disease with a peak in young men, who are also gamers.

Anything above the visible light spectrum is not too much harmful. Meaning microwaves, radiowaves, infrared, and up to the color Blue will not be harmful as they can’t penetrate the skin (400nm and up). Below 400 nm is where you get your UV rays, X-rays, gamma, and cosmic rays. Controllers fall well below 400nm, so is this what you want to be exposed to every time you go sit down to play a game?

I’d advise you to stop playing with these wireless controllers by all means as soon as possible. Go get a corded controller. The wireless controllers do irreparable damage, unless you’re willing to shell out tons of money to cure a cancer. To see what you can do about the harm the manufacturers of these wireless controllers have done to you, contact them as soon as you can.
