NEW NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT WILL BE OPEN WORLD + MORE DETAILS
The new Need For Speed title will not be closed like it's first two games were. Instead, Criterion will follow Burnout's success and make it open world.

When we saw that amazing Need For Speed reveal trailer (can be seen below), most of us had one question in mind. Would this one be open world like Burnout Paradise? Or would it be closed off like the original Hot Pursuits? Either way, we're sure the game would have come out as an amazing game but we finally know for sure.

It seems the new Need For Speed will be following Burnout Paradise's footsteps and will be open world. Criterion, also the developers for Burnout Paradise obviously thought that it would make the game much better. We hope they're right.

We also have more details like there will be two separate campaigns. One for the robber and one for the cop. Most abilities cops had in the original Hot Pursuit games are back. Can call roadblocks, spike strips, aerial support but now even has an EMP blast that screws up the other drivers handling for some time. Racers now have their own abilities. They can jam radar, become invisible, a nitro boost, and make a decoy vehicle. Abilities have cool down times, are initiated by d-pad. Cars, upgrades and weapons are unlocked through the Bounty System which is a level up system based on your skill.

Here's the reveal gameplay trailer. Check back to Meodia.com for the latest in gaming info.
