Then why wouldn't I choose another client that can offer their program for free and a wider range of of games also at cut prices, like Steam for example?

JA, that is sadly the case. But games will cost less because there is no need for a retailer, physical copy and piracy goes down. And, since there won't be any used sales, it can go down further. S...
