In the 4th installment of the Grand Theft Auto series (first on the next gen scene), Niko Bellic, an immigrant from a European country, desires to escape his past of war, drug smuggling, and human trafficing. His cousin, Roman Bellic, tells him about the riches, pretty women, and Italian sports cars he obtained while living in the United States, which, along with the reasons above, help solitify his choice of leaving Europe and coming to Liberty City.  When he gets there, he finds that his cousin was not so truthful - living in a beat up old apartment with a old, broken down car, and a failing taxi cab service as his occupation.  Now, Niko must work his way up from the slums of the corrupt Liberty City, and he finds that this is not that easy to do unless he is to use some of his talents that he used in his past, which he is trying to escape from.
